The Focus on World Jazz from Hungary brings more than 20 Hungarian World Jazz artists to Amersfoort. All of them incomparable virtuosos, who incorporate their traditions into modern jazz. One of them is the trio Santa Diver of e-violinist Luca Kézdy. “Whether it’s minimal techno, experimental jazz or Moroccan desert blues: Santa Diver finds it all equally important. Their music is of a mysterious beauty, with instruments that often sound different than usual,” says Koen Schouten of Amsterdam BIMHUIS, where Santa Diver plays on 15 May. Santa Diver plays at Amersfoort Jazz in the historic venue ‘Mannenzaal’ on Saturday afternoon, 16 May. Line up: Luca Kézdy violin, Dávid Szesztay bass, Dávid Szegő drums.

The performance at Amerfsoort Jazz takes place in collaboration with BIMHUIS Amsterdam, where Santa Diver performs on 15 May, in a double bill concert with the equally unorthodox and at the same time contemporary Koma Saxo from Berlin. Click to the website
