Stormvogel (NLD) invites… Jasper van ‘t Hof & Tontrakul (THA)

Stormvogel (NLD)
Stormvogel is an adventurous ‘jazzbarock’ keyboardist and composer from The Netherlands, whose statement of principles contain a method of modular composing by shifting odd meter ostinati (motifs that persistently repeat) on cue, combined with modal and free jazz passages in the spirit of Coltrane. Other characteristics are his use of ‘pythagorean scales’ and ‘Indo-European melodies’, analogue synthesizers as full-fledged instruments and enduring synergetic stampedes, altogether submerged into a mystical-historiological context. Warning: unsuitable for heart patients. Line-up: t.b.a.

Guests: Jasper van ‘t Hof
Jasper van ‘t Hof is one of the most exciting keyboardist from Europe. Since the early seventies, Jasper has been one of the leading innovators in the European jazz scene, a major pioneer in the world of jazzrock, improv and progressive jazz, playing both grand and electric piano, as well as synthesizers and church organ. He worked with Charlie Mariano, Bob Malach, Didier Lockwood, Philip Catherine, Jean-Luc Ponty and many others. In 2018, jasper received the prestigious Boy Edgar Prize in recognition of his impressive oeuvre, stemming from a fifty-year career as a performing artist.

with other musical genres like western jazz and electronical styles, Tontrakul (born in 1992, Thailand), is a prototype of a modern World Jazz artist. He plays Mor Lam, Pin, Khaen and Ponglang, touring worldwide with projects like Asia 7, Rhythm of Thailand, hai x Norsk Project and Sound of Siam.
