Stormvogel (NLD) invites… Jasper van ‘t Hof & Tontrakul (THA)
Stormvogel is an adventurous ‘jazzbarock’ keyboardist and composer from The Netherlands, whose statement of principles contain a method of modular composing by shifting odd meter ostinati (motifs that persistently repeat) on cue, combined with modal and free jazz passages in the spirit of Coltrane. Other characteristics are his use of ‘pythagorean scales’ and ‘Indo-European melodies’, analogue synthesizers as full-fledged instruments and enduring synergetic stampedes, altogether submerged into a mystical-historiological context. Warning: unsuitable for heart patients. Line-up: t.b.a.
