NAOS Quartet (NLD)
n 2014 she won the international bandoneon solo competition Klingenthal and graduated her bachelor cum laude in that same year at the conservatory of Rotterdam. After going into depth in tango in Argentina, she started her master of music studies in 2017 where she combined tango with jazz. With Thomas Pol on double bass, David Gútierrez Franco on piano and Matthias de Waele on drums, Simone forms the NAOS Quartet. Four young musicians bring the Argentine tango to a new world in which the fusion of different influences is the main focus. With the ‘Nuevo Tango’ of Astor Piazzolla as a starting point, these musicians go even further and create new music where tango, jazz and improvisation meet. Something you don’t hear often on bandoneon.
