Born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Hans Dulfer began to play at age 17, He has been referred to as “Big boy” because of his album of the same name. He has performed a considerable amount of cross-over jazz, funk, punk and rock fusion music. He worked with illustrious Dutch performers such as Clous van Mechelen, Herbert Noord, Frank Wright, Cees Schrama and the Instant Composers of the BIM. He won several prizes, also as a car salesman. He has comparatively high popularity in Japan. Hans Dulfer (father of saxophonist Candy Dulfer), has played many times at Amersfoort Jazz festival, but not since 2012. The concert in May was supposed to be his 80th birthday concert. The line-up is yet to be announced, but will be probably with Jerome Hol (guitar) and Planet T.
