Amersfoort World Jazz Festival

For Dutch audiences, Wouter Hamel needs no introduction. When he won the prestigious Dutch Jazz Vocalist Concours in the early 2000s, his career took flight and he instantly won a Silver Harp Award for his debut LP, Hamel. That album consisted of songs Hamel wrote together with colleague Benny Sings.

By now, Hamel has released six records, and he’s getting ready to release his seventh, having worked with greats such as Andy Platts (Mamas Gun) and Benjamin Herman. His work contains influences of jazz, West Coast pop, funk, neo-soul and electro, and it’s so far been presented on stages across Europe, Japan and Korea.
