Rob van Bavel makes his return to Amersfoort World Jazz Festival! One of the most wanted pianists in The Netherlands, he performed with Woody Shaw, Bob Mintzer, Joe Henderson, Chet Baker.. The list is long. In 2005, he was somehow billed at the North Sea Jazz Festival 8 times!
Teaching at nearly all conservatories in The Netherlands and authoring the book Jazz Piano Essentials, Van Bavel helped many promising pianists kickstart their careers around the world – perhaps most famously his son, Sebastiaan.
The album Time For Ballads, featuring originals as well as pieces by Henri Mancini, Herbie Hancock, Toots Thielemans, Billy Strayhorn, and Rachmaninoff, was recorded in 2021 and will be presented at Amersfoort World Jazz Festival for the very first time.
