The Brazilian Experience is a project by rising star Lucas Figueiredo Santana, this year’s National Artist in Residence. Spreading Brazilian music around the world, and starting in Europe, where Santana has lived since 2015, his talent and virtuosic saxophone and flute playing is undeniable. Over the last few years, he’s collaborated with renowned institutions such as the Metropole Orchestra and the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, and won a Downbeat Student Award in 2021.
