With Jessica de Boer, Amersfoort welcomes the latest generation of Dutch jazz vocalists. De Boer stands out through her disarming, lyrical jazz fusion, inspired by nature, life, and faith. After graduating with honors from the Utrecht Conservatory in 2019, she embraced lockdowns to complete her debut album GROW, which was released on Challenge Records in 2022.
“De Boer is more than just another singer with a great voice who sings about love”, ProgJazz.nl praised her, continuing that “she does not hesitate to lace her nostalgic-yet-optimistic harmonies and melodies with crafty rhythmical experiments.”
Her original and creative approach to jazz previously brought her to stages at North Sea Jazz Festival, Middelheim Jazz, UJazz Festival and TivoliVredenburg. At Amersfoort World Jazz Festival, she premieres GROW.
