The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw has put big band music back on the map in The Netherlands. Since 1999 The Jazz Orchestra has been the backbone of the jazz program at the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. The orchestra has joined forces with soloists of international class, including: Christian Scott, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Joshua Redman and lately Jim McNeely. The international press proclaimed The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw as the best and most swinging Dutch big band in The Netherlands and Europe. Their albums Blues for the Date feat. Peter Beets(2010) and Crossroads(2018) have been awarded with an Edison, the oldest and most prestigious prize for music in The Netherlands.

Singer Trijntje Oosterhuis has been at the Dutch top for years and has many collaborations to her name with international greats such as Burt Bacharach, Lionel Richie, Herbie Hancock, Toots Thielemans and many others.
