BIM, abbreviated from the Dutch term for ‘professional association of improv musicians’, was once the founder of Amsterdam’s famous BIMHUIS. A forefront fighter for all who love and create jazz and improvised music since the early 70s, BIM has lobbied for more opportunities for musicians, for fair pay and, overall, better circumstances. In 2022 we celebrate the 50th anniversary of this important institution at Amersfoort World Jazz Festival with a special concert by an allstar lineup including renowned saxophonist Hans Dulfer.
