Saxophonist Bart Wirtz is no stranger to the Dutch scene, winning the Erasmus Jazz Prize, Leiden Jazz Award, Edison Jazzism Audience Award and Breda Jazz Prize over the years.
Blending hiphop, rock, jazz and funk for Beneath The Surface altered his path, though, and its track Evolution of the Innocent ended up on a Spotify playlist garnering acclaim and almost 5 million streams.
Presenting his trio with bassist Kasper Kalf and drummer Pim Dros, accompanied by British singer songwriter Jono McCleery, creates a beautiful, acoustic adventure. Please enjoy it at Amersfoort World Jazz Festival.
