Amersfoort World Jazz Festival will take place this year from 4 – 14 August. The festival offers an adventurous program with more than 100 concerts on the indoor and outdoor stages in the historic city center. The outdoor concerts are from 11 to 14 August at the Lieve Vrouwekerkhof, which will be transformed into an atmospheric open-air theater. Every evening, De Observant and KOSMIK present The Dutch Jazz Release Stages. This year, Podium FLUOR is also participating, while the historic Sint Aegtenkapel is looking for more another vibe with acoustic concerts. International Artists in Residence
This year the Amersfoort World Jazz Festival proudly presents father and son John Clayton and Gerald Clayton as International Artists In Residence. Both are, also separately from each other, artists of world fame. The legendary double bassist John Clayton (Count Basie) plays with The New Jazz Orchestra, Orchestra Jazz Siciliana (ITA) and several prominent Dutch artists. Son Gerald Clayton is a six-time Grammy-nominated pianist, composer and bandleader. During Amersfoort World Jazz he plays with the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw (JOC) and the National Jazz Youth Orchestra (NJJO) among others.

Exceptional talent
In 2022 Amersfoort World Jazz Festival presents the exceptional talent of the young Brazilian saxophonist Lucas Santana, winner of the Downbeat Student Award 2021, Keep an Eye Award (2020) and the Latin Grammy (2016), who is currently shaking up the Dutch scene with his refined playing. , high-profile performances and promising albums. Santana makes an appearance on various days of the festival, with his quintet, with a string ensemble, with a Brazilian act and as a guest soloist with the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw.
