FESTIVAL SET UP

Amersfoort Jazz Festival starts on thursday evening at the theatre, with a special opening concert featuring the International Artist in Residence. On friday (evening), saturday (afternoon and evening) and sunday (afternoon), the regular concerts take place at the various in- and outdoor venues throughout the inner city of Amersfoort: 3 main stages (market squares), 1 theatre and several smaller indoor venues. These concerts include performances by leading acts from the Dutch scene, next to the international artists from the selected Focus Country, as well as the artists from the Sena Performers International Jazz Laureates Festival. Each day, the International Artist in Residence performs in differing collaborations with renowned Dutch artists. Almost all concerts are free of charge.

JAZZ HERITAGE WALKS
On saturday afternoon the festival invites the audience to experience the historic inner city of Amersfoort with so-called Jazz Heritage Walks, including intimate chamber jazz concerts. For international attenders, a guided walk is available in English. Read more…

HOME OF JAZZ
Stadscafé de Observant serves as the Home of Jazz throughout the festival: a haven for the lost & found, a meeting point for public, musicians and professionals. At the Observant the visitors of Amersfoort Jazz are being informed on the whereabouts of the festival, during the weekend (friday evening till and Sunday afternoon). Read more…

WORLD JAZZ CONFERENCE
Together with JazzNL Foundation, Amersfoort Jazz Festival is hosting a World Jazz Conference, inviting about 40 delagates from foreign countries, to enhance collaboration between jazz and world festivals on an international level. This World Jazz Conference takes place at the Observant on friday. Attending participants also visit the concerts at Amersfoort Jazz Festival, including the English spoken Jazz Heritage Walk. ROUNDTOWN
